- Favors are standard fare for any birthday, but sometimes it's hard to fill goodie bags with fun stuff. Try visiting a dollar store for quick, easy and inexpensive little goodies to give away. Finish each goodie bag off with delicious treats like SNICKERS® FUN SIZE bars, M&M'S® Brand Chocolate Candies and SKITTLES® Original candies.
- Something fun to do throughout the birthday party is to recognize famous people who share the same birthday. You can even provide fun favors that are relevant. For example, if your kid's birthday is the same as Amelia Earhart's, hand out model planes or aviator goggles.
- If your child is old enough, don't be afraid to involve them in the party planning. Often, they'll have fun game and theme ideas you couldn't possible think of. Ask them what type food and dessert they'd like. They can even help decorate too!
- When the birthday party is over, be sure to sit down with your child and send "thank you" cards either digitally or by mail. Remember to thank everyone for coming and for the gifts that were received. If your child is too young to write, have them sign their initials.
- Create a special birthday photo album with pictures of your child from when they were born. Include pictures of everyone who was there (relatives, nurses and doctors), as well as the birth certificate and other fun things. When the guests have gone home, take a moment to share this with your child. This can become a tradition after every birthday.
